Employers in Sacramento area besides State work?
I am a State worker in Sacramento who is curious to know if there are other major employers in this area and what skills/education I would need to apply for well-paying jobs with them. Are there any emerging job markets in this area (i.e. green jobs)? I want to keep my job options open.

There are thousands of employers in the Sacramento area that are not State or Federal. There are Corporate and Sole Proprietorship options available. You need to determine what your skills are and what field they are best applied in. Then contact companies in those fields to apply for any jobs that you could qualify for.
