Since you already have an interest in makeup and are probably good with colors, why don't you think about becoming a Mary Kay consultant? I recently got involved part time and am already raking in cash. It's so easy because the products sell themselves, and you can make your own schedule, don't have a boss, deadlines, etc. MK was named the #1 company where more women make over $100,000/year than any other company, and MK has been the #1 selling cosmetic/skin care line since 1993 (and we don't even advertise!). It's great feeling to enrich women's lives and give them a confidence on the inside because of how great they feel on the outside. Contact me through my website: www.marykay.com/adina_k

Sactown, Mary Kay is not where it is at as far as FX make up goes. You can get instruction on special effects at elite acadamy, but you have to take their entire program. There is place based out of the east coast that does a traveling 2 week makeup clinic in the bay. Their website is below. The first week is general make up, which there is no way around taking because they say you must know this before learning special effects. The second week is media make up. The next scheduled on is in Emeryville in September.

About Do you know where I can hire day laborers in the Sacramento area for tomorrow (Sunday)

Do you know where I can hire day laborers in the Sacramento area for tomorrow (Sunday)?
Hi _ My son is moving to El Dorado Hills, CA from Eureka, CA tomorrow and he needs help unloading his U-Haul truck. Do you know where day laborers wait for work in the Sacramento, CA area? He needs to be able to pick up some people to help him unload. Any location where he might look for some help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Home Depot, Lowe's, WalMart

Find a Home Depot or Lowe's. I'm not sure about Sacto, but around San José, day laborers surround building supply stores.

Hope you get caught hiring illegals and get socked with a large fine for doing so.

I asked a friend who lives in Sacramento, and he tells me that the place to go is 47th street and Martin Luther King. Laborers congregate there and you just can drive up and ask who can do the job. BTW, it is LEGAL to hire these people, as long as you hire them for a set "contract" fee. In other words, you can offer, say, $100 to unload your truck. But it would be illegal to hire undocumented workers as an employer, such as by stating an hourly wage. Weird, I know, but that's apparently the law. If you want something a little more, umm, "professional," U-Haul now has a service that provides loading and unloading help. See the Web page below: http://www.uhaul.com/MovingHelp/ But if you want more answers from people who know for sure, you might want to ask your question again in the Sacramento section of Yahoo Answers. There are more people there who are knowledgeable about laborers in Sacramento than there are in St. Louis.

the Home Depot parking lot is a common pick-up spot.

Where can I find a job in the Sacramento area working with babies/infants? w/o needing to be a nurse or degre?
I only have an associates degree but I would love to have a job working with babies/infants. I was considering volunteering at a hospital to be a "baby cuddler", but i'd really like something that's financially rewarding as well. I live in Sacramento and would love suggestions. I don't desire to be a mother but I love nurturing! Thanks in advance!

About Can I write off gas mileage for work in California? Please see my details

Can I write off gas mileage for work in California? Please see my details...?
I work for a grocery store, I don't deliver or drive for a living I just happen to drive 90 miles each way to work and pay toll 3-5 days a week. I live in Sacramento and work in the Bay area. Not sure if I can write this off on taxes, if so any easy to understand tax info or links would be HIGHLY appreciated.

No, it is your choice to live this far away. If it was mileage for your job that you were not paid for it is ok, but not to and from your job
2 :
don't think you can. you chose where you work and you chose where you live. the mileage driven and tolls paid are part of the life style you chose. don't like the drive or the tolls - change where you work or where you live
3 :
No, you can't. You can only write off mileage if you are an independent contractor, which you aren't. I suggest you find a job closer to home, or consider commuting via Capitol Corridor. Driving that far for a job in a grocery store is absurd. My guess is that you spend about 80% of your income on commuting costs, which makes no sense.
